When it comes to candle scribing, we get a lot of questions. “How do you scribe a candle? Do I have to write in a certain direction? Can I write on the bottom?”. If you’re also wondering about the answers to these questions, we’ve got you covered!
Candle Scribing
First things first, grab a pen or something with a dull point to inscribe your candle with. Just note that if you decide to use a pen, that pen will never write on paper again. Choose which direction you want to scribe the candle. Scribe in a diagonal direction to have it gradually enter your life or find its way to you. To bring something to you, scribe the candle from bottom to top, to do the opposite, and to send something away from you, scribe from the top to the bottom.
You can scribe anything you want on a candle. It can be a name, a symbol, a dollar amount, a personal sigil, etc. If you are looking for more immediate action, scribe the candle up on the top. If you want to keep what you’re writing a secret, or you want it to grow roots in your life, scribe on the bottom of the candle.
Now that you know what you want to scribe, what you want to get out of it, and you have your tool to scribe with, let’s get to it! Grab your candle and your writing tool and place the candle between two stable items. You can use your legs, heavy books, or a bunched-up towel. You can also wing it and just hold the candle while you write. If you chose to hold the candle, be careful! If at any point you make a mistake, all you have to do is apply a little body heat and smooth it over with your finger. If it is too deep, you may need to use a hair dryer on low to get the wax warm enough to smooth it over.
